The Countess of Fife featuring Fay Fife from The Rezillos

Hope and Anchor 207 Upper Stret, London

Another first from Blackstar Promotions as we bring the amazing Fay Fife and her alt country outlaws The Countess of Fife to The Hope and Anchor to perform their debut London gig. Along with support from the multi talented JohnEllis this one is unmissable.

THE COUNTESS OF FIFE
The Countess of Fife is the new insurgent alt-country outfit led by Fay Fife from The Rezillos.

Fay Fife writes from the heart… Of humanity, love, birth, life, death, and all things in between – with earthy lyrics grounded in a mature woman’s perspective.

The Countess delivers… Melody! Harmony! A whole load of soul, and some downright rambunctiousness! All in a unique, eclectic, country-orientated style.
These songs are songs that resonate with our times.

Fay Fife (of the Rezillos) channels urban, vintage but timeless vibes, “…coming on like a Celtic Ronnie Spector…”
Fiona Shepherd, Sample of Talent, The Scotsman Magazine, 26/11/22 .

Think of The Cramps, meeting Johnny Cash, in an unholy alchemy of country, punk and gospel.

Fay’s glorious vocals are rich, dark and powerful, creating a perfect storm to play with your emotions…

Baby Seals, Eryx London, Ecto Peach & Iconoclasts at The Mean Fiddler

The Fiddler's Elbow 1 Malden Road, Camden, London

A night of furious, female fronted punk rock, we are over the moon to bring The Baby Seals, Eryx London, Ecto Peach and Iconoclasts together in one fierce bundle. Tonight is going to be as high octane as it gets.

THE BABY SEALS

The Baby Seals are a punk pop garage three-piece from Cambridgeshire who have toured extensively across the UK and Europe, appearing at festivals like Rebellion and Manchester Punk Festival. Described as ‘like an all-girl New York Dolls’ and ‘a stoner-rock Sleater Kinney’, The Baby Seals make a big noise; songs with power, fuzz, distortion, attack and lush harmonies.

They sing about things that matter, and things that don’t matter. They might kick your arse, but also make you a cup of tea.

ERYX LONDON

Based in the Midlands, Eryx London are a loud 4-piece band with bags of energy and tunes to boot!
The ferocious lead- singer, Eryx Ward delivers snarl and growls over an onslaught of cathartic noise.

“Is it essentially original and that bodes well for the future. Album please. ” – Eugene Butcher, Vive Le Rock

ECTO PEACH

Ecto Peach have got the middle-aged angst and they’re not going to simply fade into the background quietly with their M&S slippers on (however much they like the quality and reasonable prices of M&S.. and the fact that their perfume is not tested on animals). They’re not a band trying to find themselves. No, they know who they are and they know who you are and with punchy music and catchy lyrics they’re gonna say things that really matter. No one cares that you’re mooning over someone you saw on a train, whilst standing in the rain. No, we’ve got the important subjects covered, like when trips to the blue and orange paradise of B&M turn sour or when someone hands you a cold cup of tea.

ICONOCLASTS

Female punk band the Iconoclasts have made a comeback – over 40 years on. The Merseyside band were popular on the Liverpool punk scene during the 1980s, inspiring many youngsters of the time with outrageously spikey hair and some marvellously customised clothes. They were angry and wanted to be heard.

The band started up in 1982 against a backdrop of riots and discontented youth. The four punks decided they wanted to start a band, make some noise, and most importantly have some fun!

Back in December 2022 they made their first comeback appearance, performing at Molly’s Chambers on the Wirral, supporting another blast from the past, Instant Agony. This was the first time the Iconoclasts had performed in 40 years.
